The tour combines active biking routes with Armenia’s cultural highlights: Yerevan, Amberd Fortress, Dilijan, Lake Sevan, Vayots Dzor, Tatev, Goris, Khor Virap, Garni and Geghard.

Arrival in Yerevan. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation. Overnight in Yerevan.

DAY 02
Yerevan city tour

City Tour in Yerevan

The tour starts at 10 AM with a visit to the Matenadaran Museum, home to a unique collection of ancient manuscripts covering philosophy, law, mathematics, medicine and geography. Continue to the Genocide Monument and Museum. After lunch, tour to Echmiadzin. Evening free. Overnight in Yerevan.

Yerevan – Byurakan – Amberd – Vanadzor

After breakfast, drive to Amberd Fortress located on Aragats mountain at 2,300 m, on a high triangular cliff formed by the Amberd and Arkashen rivers. Bike to Aparan village, then transfer to Vanadzor. The route follows a partially paved road with easy traffic. Attractions along the route include Amberd Fortress, Armenian Alphabet Monument and Aparan water reservoir. Overnight in Vanadzor.

DAY 04
70 km · 6–7 hours

Vanadzor – Dilijan – Haghartsin – Gosh

Attractions along the route include Vanadzor town, Dilijan town, Old Dilijan, Haghartsin Monastery and Goshavank Monastery. Optional visit to Parz Lake, 14 km. Overnight in Gosh village.

DAY 05
55 km · 5–6 hours

Gosh – Aghavnavank – Jambarak – Tsapatagh

Bike from Gosh village to Aghavnavank, near Dilijan National Park. Continue to Chambarak city and, after passing the mountain gap, reach Sevan Pond. The biking road ends in Shorja. Depending on the participants, continue by bike to Tsapatagh hotel for 20 km or transfer by bus.

Tsapatagh – Vardenis – Martuni – Hermon

The road continues along Lake Sevan, passes Vardenis city and reaches Martuni. From Martuni the road starts descending toward Vardenyants mountain gap. Depending on the group, continue by bike to Shatin village or transfer by bus to the hotel in Hermon, with a visit to a medieval caravanserai.

Hermon – Gokhtanik – Herher – Sisian

The route goes through the mountains of Vayots Dzor and Vardenis. Along the way, see Vayots Sar volcano and Herher water reservoir. Transfer to Sisian and overnight in the city.

Sisian – Ltscen – Tatev

Ltscen village is located 20 km from Sisian. Along the way, visit Vorotnavank Monastery, Vorotnaberd Castle and the Melik Tangim Bridge. From Ltscen to Tatev village, the road follows Vorotan Canyon with fantastic views. After visiting Tatev Monastery, overnight in a B&B in Tatev village.

Tatev – Shinuhayr – Goris

From Tatev, continue to Devil’s Bridge in Vorotan Canyon. After visiting the area, bike to the old village of Shinuhayr. Continue via Qoli Jamba old road to Goris. Overnight in Goris.

Transfer day with sightseeing

Goris – Noravank – Khor Virap – Yerevan

Transfer to Yerevan with a tour to Khor Virap at the foot of Biblical Mount Ararat. From the monastery, enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Ararat. Continue to Cascade in Yerevan, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts and Matenadaran, the repository of ancient manuscripts. Overnight in Yerevan.

Cultural day

Garni & Geghard

Visit Garni Fortress and the pagan Temple of the Sun, built by King Trdat in 77. See Garni Stone Symphony in the Azat River Canyon. Continue to Geghard Monastery, a unique rock-cut monastery with remarkable acoustics. Visit Vernissage, a three-block open-air bazaar with carpets, crafts, clothes and souvenirs.
