Odzun was a home to Catholicos Hovhannes Odznetsi who was born here and educated in the church school. The basilica has a unique structure with 2 rectangular rock obelisks in huge blocks of stones. According to the legend, the funerary monuments were donated to the Armenians by the Indian king.
